Day 1 - Easton Walled Gardens, Grantham

Easton Walled Gardens was described by President Franklin Roosevelt as a `Dream of Nirvana.... almost too good to be true“. 50 years later, the house was pulled down and the gardens abandoned. 100 years later see the ongoing revival of these magnificent gardens. Funded privately (with the support of visitors) this garden experience is like no other.

2 Nights at the 4*Lee Wood Hotel, Buxton on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis.

All bedrooms are en-suite with electronic locks, hospitality tray, hair dryer, radio alarm, telephone and satellite reception televisions. Wireless internet is available both in the rooms and in the public areas.
The restaurant is award winning and is well known throughout the region.

Day 2 - Biddulph Grange

This garden is an amazing Victorian garden created by James & Maria Bateman for his collection of plants from around the world, with Edward Cook the marine painter . A visit takes you on a global journey from Italy to the pyramids of Egypt, a Victorian vision of China, a re-creation of a Himalayan glen, a Scottish Glen as well as an ice house and fountain in Mrs Bateman's Garden.
The garden features collections of rhododendrons, summer bedding displays, a stunning dahlia walk and the oldest surviving golden larch in Britain, brought from China in the 1850's. The Geological Gallery shows how Bateman reconciled geology and theology.

Day 3 - Trentham

At the centre of Trentham Gardens is the mile long, Capability Brown designed, Trentham Lake. Take the circularlakeside walk all the way round as it takes you aside the River Trent, by the bird hide, through the cascading weir and along atmospheric woodland trails, featuring vast NEW meadows by Nigel Dunnett and the team who were responsible for the stunning wildflower plantings at the Olympic Park.
These celebrate the centenary of Capability Brown with schemes chosen for seasonal interest and environmental suitability. Keep your eyes peeled as you walk around the lake, and through the woodland, maze and gardens where the Fairies at Trentham live.
