In celebration of The Queen's historic Platinum Jubilee in 2022, Windsor Castle will host a special display commemorating Her Majesty's Coronation at Westminster Abbey on 2 June 1953.On display will be the Coronation Dress and Robe of Estate worn by The Queen that day. Designed by the British couturier Sir Norman Hartnell, the dress was created in the finest white duchesse satin, richly embroidered in a lattice-work effect with an iconographic scheme of national and Commonwealth floral emblems in gold and silver thread and pastel-coloured silks, encrusted with seed pearls, sequins and crystals.


Coach leaves Stanway at 8am, Earls Colne 8.15am, Halstead 8.30am & Braintree 8.50am. Departing approx 4.30pm.

£49 Saturday 6th August Celebrating 950 years of Lincoln Cathedral, and the visionaries who had the inspiration to build such a wonderful building and those who followed, changing our lives throughout history. Stunning displays will blossom in every area of the magnificent Lincoln Cathedral, bringing it to life in a unique and inspiring way. The festival will celebrate the life and works of St Hugh of Lincoln, as well as many other notable visionaries whose ideas and actions have shaped the world we live in and changed our lives. The displays will cover poetry, theatre, film, and fashion, alongside history, exploration, invention, and more. There will be something for everyone, from the Mayflower Pilgrims’ journey to the New World to the moon landing and even Harry Potter!

The Mosque is designed by the same architect who designed the London Eye and the Treetop walkway at Kew Gardens. Thirty columns reach up to support the roof in a design inspired by the Gothic fan vaulting at near by Kings College Chapel. The Islamic Garden with a whispering fountain also brings the ancient majesty of the Moorish Alhambra to Cambridge.

Platinum Jubilee - The Queen’s Accession

Recognised around the world as the home of The Queen, the focus of national and royal celebrations. The State Rooms at Buckingham Palace will feature a display looking at The Queen's Accession to the throne in February 1952. On display will be examples from the remarkable series of portraits taken by Dorothy Wilding, that formed the basis of The Queen's image on stamps and in British embassies across the world until 1971. Also featured will be The Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, which was a wedding gift to Princess Victoria Mary of Teck, later Queen Mary, on the occasion of her marriage to the future King George V in 1893. The diamond tiara was made by E. Wolff & Co for R & S. Garrard in a scrolled and pierced foliate form. Queen Mary gave the tiara to her granddaughter, Princess Elizabeth, as a wedding present on the occasion of her marriage to Prince Philip on 20 November 1947.
